The waves are very active and playful shining having just risen from their sleep and are dancing in enjoyment. The waves look like fiery ringlets. The speaker moves on until his boat reaches the slushy sand. The speaker disembarks from his boat and walks a mile on the warm sea-scented beach. He crosses three fields to reach his destination. He knocks at the window pane of the farmhouse. His ladylove responds by lighting a match within. He observes this.
