The central idea of the poem -  A war brings destruction even Nature cannot protect people from the harmful effect of War. The dead soldier sleeps well after the hardship he had to undergo during the war. He looks innocent, smiling lying in the lap of the nature mother. It creates a feeling of pain and anger among the readers as the soldier dies prematurely.  War has nothing of its own, it destroys humanity, and brings loneliness, and sadness. It should be avoided. कविता का केंद्रीय विचार- युद्ध विनाश लाता है प्रकृति भी लोगों को युद्ध के हानिकारक प्रभाव से नहीं बचा सकती। युद्ध के दौरान जिन कष्टों से गुजरना पड़ा, उसके बाद मृत सैनिक चैन की नींद सोता है। वह प्रकृति मां की गोद में लेटे मासूम, मुस्कुराते हुए दिखते हैं। यह पाठकों के बीच दर्द और गुस्से की भावना पैदा करता है क्योंकि सैनिक समय से पहले मर जाता है। युद्ध का अपना कुछ नहीं होता, यह मानवता को नष्ट कर देता है, और अकेलापन और उदासी लाता है। इससे बचना चाहिए.
